The 17th Annual Ben Campanale Laconia ½ Mile is
on hold for 2009.
I did everything I could do secure sponsorship for 09 but it the
end the economy won out. My faithful New England Harley-Davidson
motorcycle dealers association, have been major sponsor of Sideways
Promotions and New England Dirt Track Series for 15 years. Due
to the economy they regretfully could not continue to support
my events. I do want to thank them for their past support, it
was them along with a few other dealerships that made Ben Campanale
½ mile possible. I spent 7 months working 3 different groups
to put a Rochester race on for 09. Laconia Motorcycle Week will
revive into a bigger event with more racing than before! I am
not giving up on the race entirely, but will continue to secure
sponsorship for the race in 2010. I want to thank all you fans
and riders for you support in having some very successful races.
It put New England on the map, showing the rest of the country
just how great our program is. Another very special thing, is
that I have got to know a lot of the riders in the National Circuit
as good friends.
Sideways Promotions will concentrate on the short tracks, especially

What We Do
Sideways Promotions 20th Anniversary Tour
1989, the year it all started. What began as 3 races in New Hampshire
to revive motorcycle dirt track, a sport that dates back to the
1920’s has grown into a motor sports promotion company involved
in over 30 events a year. The plan was the same now as it was then,
to promote quality family style events. The trip has crisscrossed
New England Fairs, race tracks, special events and static shows.
We have been indoors and out, raced on pavement, dirt and ice, promoted
4 year olds on bikes and karts to Monster Trucks and Doug Danger.
We learned from the best in the business working for Clear Channel
Entertainment, New Hampshire International Speedway, Stafford Motor
Speedway, Seekonk Speedway, Checkered Flag Productions, Rochester
Fairgrounds and Bangor Fairgrounds. The list also includes other
Fairgrounds, smaller motorcycle and automobile tracks.
Sideways Promotions is looking forward to our 20th Anniversary Tour!
We have more wild intermission entertainment planned, more Expert
riders dicing for the cash and more young kids to watch! In these
economic times people want to be entertained more than ever. We
look forward to seeing you at a race or Fair!
Sideways Promotions President Pete Giammalvo started riding at
8 years old and his first race (and win!) was at 14 riding a Hodaka
125 at Lake Whalom unstudded class. In 1978 he started promoting
ice races for the city of Gardner MA Winter Carnival with a great
run of 4 seasons. A career change stopped his promoting but not
his racing. In 1987 a diving accident resulted in a broken neck
and leaving Pete a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. After 14 years
successfully racing bikes and 5 years of car ice racing, his career
as a racer were done. Loving the sport, Pete decided it was time
to get back in the promoting business. A year doing ice races for
the Athol MA Lions Club and back to the dirt! 1989 Sideways Promotions
was started with a plan. To put on good quality events that keep
the fans happy, pay the riders decent and to have our own track
so our youth can train to become Professional riders. As Sideways
grew there have been ups and downs but Pete’s never give up attitude
has persevered in the long run. The dream of a lifetime is coming
together as riders from the northeast are becoming recognized nation
wide for their accomplishments!
Sideways Promotions is a multi-purpose promotions company doing
business in the northeast. We specialize in Professional and Amateur
flat track racing but we are also very experienced in other forms
of motor sports. Sideways Promotions can offer specialized shows
or racing from freestyle exhibitions to monster trucks. We do special
events on pavement, dirt and ice, indoors or out. Please contact
us for more information.

PRESS RELEASE
TR3 RAKE PRESS RELEASE - Sideways Promotions
would like to announce a new outside the motorcycle industry Sponsor
for the New England Dirt Track Series 2006 season. Absolute
Innovations LLC has the ultimate ground prep tool for any dirt
race track: oval or motocross. The TR3
Rakes is the top choice at thousands of tracks, arenas and fairgrounds
across North America. Sideways Promotions President Pete Giammalvo
says,
"Promoting motorcycle races at different tracks has always
been a big challenge because everyone has different equipment to
prepare the soil. I have tried all kinds of equipment and the TR3
Rake is the one piece that does it all. From loosening the soil
to get moisture in, grading in between races and even to fluff the
dirt after a rainstorm, it does it all. We also grade the roads
and parking areas at our club track, Wachusett Valley Riders. Traveling
all over New England like we do allows me to transport 1 piece of
equipment instead of a variety of attachments. With more back yard
practice tracks being built Absolute Innovations has equipment from
4’ wide that can be pulled with an atv or truck to 14’ wide commercial
applications. Being a stubborn old "Yankee from New England" I was
doubtful till I watched the video and read their money back guarantee.
They believe in their product 100% and so do I."

Promotions and get a free set of scarifier replacement tips with your
TR3 or Rascal order.
